Oakley resident Edward (Ed) Dailey, 48, formerly of Bemidji, Minn., passed away suddenly on May 14. Ed was a 10-year veteran of the United States Air Force, most notably serving two years during Operation Desert Storm, in which he attained the rank of sergeant.

He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Karen; mother, Jean Dailey (Fred); father, Bill Letford (Pat); grandmother, Margaret Wayne; sister, Pam Matney (Wayne); brother, Michael Dailey (Stephanie); nephews, Jayson Matney, Owen Dailey and Dawson Dailey; and niece, Jenna Dailey.

In California, he is survived by his in-laws, Hal Lauth, Ann Lauth, Susan Foster (Matt), Michael Lauth (Cynthia), Stephen Lauth (Kerry), Jennifer Martinez (Leo) and Nancy Brinkley, all who adored him, including his niece, Nicole Foster, nephews, Dan Foster, Ryan Foster, John Lauth, Cameron Lauth, Sam Lauth, Nathan Brinkley and James Brinkley, Jr. He also left behind five much-loved pets.

His death came much too soon. He was much beloved by his family as well as his friends and fellow darters from the Sacramento Valley Dart Association, as well as other dart organizations throughout Northern California. His smile and sense of humor as well as his generous spirit will be missed by all who knew him, particularly his friends in Bemidji, Minn. and the San Francisco Bay Area. Services will be for family only.
