Egeria densa herbicide program underway

The California Department of Boating and Waterways is conducting an herbicide program to control egeria densa in certain areas of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Region.

The following information is subject to change based on governmental requirements, weather conditions, plant growth, waterway traffic, and other conditions:

TREATMENT PERIOD

July 9-Oct. 15, 2012

TREATMENT AREAS

In and/or around the following areas:

Bethel Island – Taylor Slough, Piper Slough, Dutch Slough, Sand Mound Slough.

Coney Island – Rivers End.

Wrights Tract – 14 Mile Slough, Village West.

King Island – Honker Cut, White Slough, Disappointment Slough, Bishop Cut.

Lower Jones Tract – Whiskey Slough.

Steamboat Slough.

Sycamore Slough.

Orwood Island and Byron Tract – Discovery Bay (West side and portions of East side (Beaver Bay, Harbor Bay, Indian Bay).

HERBICIDES BEING USED

Fluridone (registered for aquatic use with California Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Pesticide Regulation).
