Kelsi Holt might be only 9 years old, but she’s already shown she’ll go to just about any length to help people in need. Recently, that length was 10 inches.

Her mom, Chantel, reports that last summer Kelsi raised money for the homeless children of the United States by spending several days outside at her homemade lemonade stand.

For the Christmas holiday she plans to volunteer for the Homeless Animals Lifeline Organization animal-rescue group, collect food donations at local merchants for homeless children in Contra Costa, and recruit volunteers to work at a Christmas tree farm benefiting Kids Helping Kids.

Last week Kelsi donated 10 inches of her hair – it hasn’t been trimmed since she was a baby – to Locks of Love. “Kelsi has such a warm and loving heart … She takes a lot of pride in helping others,” said Chantel. “I am such a proud mom and so excited to see what her future will hold.”
