Snow is predicted for the Streets of Brentwood this weekend, along with caroling, kids’ activities, the mayor in a turkey suit and, said General Manager Traci Nobil, another “surprise guest.”

“This one actually out-ranks the turkey,” said Nobil.

Snow (via snow machine) will fall on the Streets and on shoppers between 4 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19. At the same time, musical entertainment will be provided by The Mistletones. Local charity Kids Helping Kids, one of the groups partnering with the Streets, will introduce Eric Peasah of the International Organization for Migration, with which KHK is partnering to combat human trafficking in Ghana. Kids will also be the focus of special activities at the KHK tree lot all day. The lot is located at the east end of the Streets next to the Holiday on Ice skating rink, which has expanded its hours to 12:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. every day through Jan. 3.

Also Saturday, the Brentwood Regional Community Chest, another Streets charitable partner, will help Mayor Bob Taylor make good on his challenge to the community. Taylor’s The Mayor is a Turkey fundraiser (providing turkeys to those in need) collected more than 700 donations of $8, for which he will appear at the Streets’ Community Boutique (next to the Rave movie theater) from 1 to 4 p.m., wearing a turkey suit. Bring a camera and pose with Gobbler Bob for free.
