On Monday, June 11 Freedom hosted the ninth annual Athletic Director’s Golf Tournament at Shadow Lakes Golf Course. Over 80 golfers participated and we made over $10,000 for next year’s athletic program. In these trying economic times, every dollar counts, and I would like to thank all of our sponsors and community members for making this event a success.

Thank you to our title sponsor, General Plumbing Supply. Thank you to our hole sponsors: AXA Advisers, Chevron, Harris Color Graphics, Quattrochi Kwok Architects, First Investors, and Delta Schools Federal Credit Union. In addition, thank you to Oak Tree Embroidery for providing complimentary hats, and Shadow Lakes for the golf gloves and golf balls.

I would also like to thank our prize sponsors: Tartlett Bakery; Aladino’s Pizza; Black Bear Diner; Johnny Carino’s; Chili’s; Creative Imaging; Crowne Plaza; Ed’s Mudville Grill; Fairview Heating & Air; Fitness 19; Harvest Park Bowl; Kobe, Japan; Melo’s; Men’s Wearhouse; Mimi’s Café; Moresi’s; Old Spaghetti Factory; Outback; Pep Boys; Rave Cinemas; Red Lobster; Red Robin; Safeway; Skipolini’s Pizza; Sleep Train Pavillion; VK Nails; Shadow Lakes Golf Course; Linda Ghilarducci; the Plumlees; Oodles of Noodles; Sports Authority; Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory; Straw Hat Pizza; Shirasoni; Menchies; and the Golden State Warriors.

I would like to thank all the participants of our golf tournament. It’s never easy to take a day away from work, especially on a Monday, but your time is appreciated by our student community, and I appreciate your willingness to continue to attend this great event.

I would also like to thank the golf tournament committee, who put in tireless hours to make our tournament a success. Thank you to Krista Plumlee, Martha Magner, Sam Jozwiak, Dee Ziegelman, LeAnn Wood and the rest of our volunteers who helped out the day of the event.

Thank you again for making Freedom athletics the best it can be, and I look forward to the start of the 2012-13 athletic season.
