At a recent Liberty High basketball camp, 43 boys and girls refined their skills on the hardwood in preparation for the CYO basketball season. Led by local coaches, including Lions boys varsity head coach Jon Heinz, the camp was designed to develop self-confidence, promote sportsmanship and teach the fundamentals of the game. Hoopsters in the third through eighth grades worked on their game throughout the clinic. Awards were given out based on how hard the athletes tried, not how many points they scored.
