Brentwood resident Chuck Richards died of kidney failure at Kaiser Hospital in Antioch at the age 56. He lived in Brentwood since the age of 13, attending Knightsen Elementary School and Liberty High School, from which he graduated in 1975.

Chuck worked as a landscape gardener for a number of years and then as a custodian for the Brentwood School District for 15 years. He retired from the school district six years ago.

Having grown up in Brentwood, Chuck had many longtime friends in the area. His favorite activities were fishing in the Delta, rooting for the Oakland Raiders and visiting with friends. He was known as a kind, generous and loyal friend who went a little nuts when “his” Raiders were not doing well. He owned an extensive collection of Raider memorabilia.

Chuck is survived by his parents, Charles and Mary Richards; sister, Cheryl Richards; and nephews, Dillon and Dominic Gallegos, all of Brentwood. He loved his family and was extremely proud of his two nephews. His passing creates a hole in our hearts, as he was much loved.

There will be no public service.
