An Oregon woman is recovering from non-life threatening injuries after she was struck by a car walking across Oak Street in Brentwood Thursday morning.

At about 8:45 a.m. Thursday, Brentwood Police and an engine from the East Contra Costa Fire Protection district responded to a call regarding a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. A 61-year-old Oregon woman was crossing the street at Oak and First streets, in front of the Bank of America building, when she was struck by a green, four-door Saturn sedan driven by a 63-year-old Brentwood woman.

The woman was transported via helicopter to a local hospital. According to a press release from Officer Jennifer Guzman, the pedestrian is in stable condition after suffering a head injury.

Guzman's release notes that neither the driver nor the pedestrian were under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Officer Luo, 925-809-7745.
