Junior anglers are invited to load up their fishing poles and come out for the Oakley Kids Fishing Derby, Saturday, June 14 at the Oakley/Antioch pier. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and fishing starts at 9 a.m. The derby is open to all kids up to age 17. Anglers 16 and over must provide their own fishing license.
The event features prizes for the biggest and smallest fish, and the most fish caught. The derby is made possible in part by the contributions of Wal-Mart. Lunch and bait for the derby will be provided by the city of Oakley as well as local business Hook, Line & Sinker. Call the Oakley Recreation Division at 925-625-7041 for additional information.
