The varied entertainment in downtown Antioch will tickle the memory and delight the ear with a pair of one-day-only performances at the El Campanil Theatre, 604 W. Second St. First up is the Journey tribute show on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 8 p.m.

Journey Unauthorized will perform classics such as Lights, Separate Ways, Who's Cryin' Now, Open Arms, Don't Stop Believin', Faithfully and Wheel In the Sky. The group's vocals are 100-percent live; no backing tracks or sampling are used in the performance. Tickets for Journey Unauthorized are $25 for adults, $22 for seniors and $15 for children.

Next comes a Big Band musical revue set for Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. Holly Larocque, Canadian star of Disney's Under the Umbrella Tree, will take the audience back to the 1940s, the era of Big Band radio broadcasts from starlit ballrooms, with Mark Ferguson's 13-piece orchestra.

The Big Band Broadcast recalls a time when glamour was king and big bands ruled the airwaves. The audience is guided on a sentimental journey by the 40s-style patter of a radio announcer and treated to tunes such as Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree, Stardust and In The Mood plus occasional messages from vintage sponsors. Each broadcast venue is identified by its station call letters.

Tickets for Big Band Broadcast are $35 and available at the box office or by calling 925-757-9500 Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and one hour before performances. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.elcampaniltheatre.com.
