Carolyn Rose Simons peacefully left her home in Brentwood and joined the Lord on Friday, June 8, 2012 with her loving family by her side. She was 51 years old.

Carolyn was born April 20, 1961 in Montclair, N.J. In 1981, she received her associate degree in fashion merchandising from the Berkley School in New Jersey. She continued her education and received a bachelor of arts in elementary education with a minor in theater in 1987 from Kean College, also in New Jersey.

A year before graduating, Carolyn met the love of her life, Tawn Simons. They were wed in July of 1988. She was blessed with three beautiful children, Victoria, Austin, and Julia. Carolyn enjoyed teaching her children about her love for the Lord, music, gardening and creativity. She loved to travel, garden, sing, care for animals, walk the shores of beaches and collect shells. Carolyn had a special gift of teaching children; she welcomed everyone with a smile and always had an open and loving heart.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Tawn; children, Victoria, Austin and Julia; brother, Michael Delli Santi; sisters-in-law, Michelle McCart and Monica Daniels; and many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends and family gathered for a memorial service in Carolyn’s honor on June 18 at Golden Hills Community Church.
