The Brentwood Press & Publishing Corporation won four awards in the National Newspaper Association’s recent 2012 Better Newspapers Competition.

Ger Erickson won first place for “Old Dogs Enter Golden Years of Rusty Gears” in the Best Serious Column category in the Daily & Non-daily Division; John Carter won second place for the Swim Lessons at Delta Valley Athletic Club advertisement in the Best Single Ad Idea category; Carol Laird won third place for Best Classified Section; and Anne Ray won third place for her Natural Flooring ads in the Best Series Ad Idea category.

“Once again, I’m proud of all our staff for the quality of work we do,” said Editor Rick Lemyre. “It’s great to have it acknowledged on a national basis.”
