Several Deer Valley High wrestlers placed at the recent North Coast Section tournament. Mykel-Lynn Malone came in second in the girls division at 98 pounds. In the boys division, Shawn Gonzalez took fifth at 119, Ace Pittman eighth at 215, and Pierre Prevot upset eighth-seeded Joey Ramirez of De LaSalle High in the opening round. In the boys BVAL championship at Liberty High the week before the NCS playoffs, Prevot claimed third place at 114 pounds, Gonzalez second at 119, DeAndre Smith second at 125, Erik Dwyer fourth at 160, Philip Farmer first at 171, Chris Madrigal third at 189, Pittman first at 215 and Joseph Malolo first at 285.
