The Heritage football team celebrated its second Homecoming before a raucous crowd of students, parents and alumni with a 42-19 victory over Antioch Friday.

The Panthers got on the board first with an 11-play, 63-yard drive. But the Patriots came right back, thanks to a running game that has been in great form all season. Kruger Story Jr. ran 24 yards and Tyler McDonald bulled his way into the end zone to tie it up.

Heritage gained the lead on another 63-yard drive that featured a 16-yard pass from quarterback Brent Eikanas to McDonald and a 32-yard run by McDonald. Antioch scored on its next possession but missed the PAT to preserve a 14-13 Patriot lead.

After that, it was pretty much all Heritage, which scored on a McDonald interception, a five-yard run by Josh Macias, a five-yard run by Story Jr. and a 20-yard run by DeShaun McCoy.

The Patriots racked up 375 yards on offense, including 132 rushing yards by McCoy. Heritage, which now owns a 2-1 league record (6-2 overall), hosts Freedom Friday night.
