Soroptimist of Antioch Club recently installed its new officers, and among the club’s upcoming projects outlined by new President Gina Moore (co-owner of Delta Bay Waterproofing) are the club’s inaugural golf tournament, planned for next June. The club’s fundraising activities are designed to help uplift women by providing scholarships for high school graduates, women re-entering college, and women in the process of earning their doctoral degrees.

Soroptimist International (SI) is an organization dedicated to advancing human rights, the status of women, and dedicated to serving the local community. Most of its members own small businesses or are representatives of businesses that support the goals of Soroptimist.

SI of Antioch meets every Wednesday from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lone Tree Golf Course. Recent speakers include local author Sarah Sundin, who has published a series of books set in the Bay Area on the lives of women during World War II. On Oct. 2, SI of Antioch will hold a garage sale at the Delta Learning Center, 275 W. Tregallas Road in Antioch.
